A few words

About Me

My name is Amna. I am a certified functional medicine health coach. I have a medical degree which gives me a greater understanding of how the body works, I practice coaching as I believe our environment plays a huge role in our current generation’s problems causing us to get sicker and stressed.

I guide clients with knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to take responsibility for their own health by taking simple steps. I understand that health coaching is a relatively new concept, but the idea of having a coach is not.

If you have been yo-yo dieting, have chronic headaches, or back pain, think that you are fine, it’s the world around you that’s the problem, if only they did that or if that changed then I would be so much better, or when things calm down at work, I’ll be less stressed but they never do, in fact the work keeps piling on and now you have acid reflux as well. I get it!

But is it ok to be just ok? Yes of course it is. On some days. If you are ok with that…

What if I told you that you could be great and amazing every day, well on most days. Wouldn’t that be something you are interested in?

Most of us are unaware that we need support, are super stressed and don’t even know it. We just know that we are struggling and don’t want to admit that. We look at other people and think, how are they doing it all?

You don’t want to ask for help because you know you can do it, or there’s no one to ask or what if the person rejects your request, you will end up feeling rejected and dejected. Instead, you soldier on and do it yourself, feeling exhausted, lonely and frustrated.

I know it’s hard, I’ve been there.

I, too, was so stressed and didn’t even know it. My body was so used to the state of anxiety that I thought this was normal. And that’s part of the problem, normalizing conditions that are actually signals from your body telling you to look deeper.

Some of the signs are:
  • Headaches
  • Body aches
  • Joint pains
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Low Energy
  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Stubborn belly fat
  • Mood swings
  • Energy crashes
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Intense cravings
  • Being snappy at your partner or your kids
  • Feelings of overwhelm
  • Bowel disturbances- constipation and diarrhea
I could go on with the many ways the body speaks to you to get you to listen to it.
  • You don’t have a sweet tooth, you have a sugar addiction
  • You are not lazy, you have an energy crisis
  • You don’t procrastinate, you have time management issues
  • You don’t get headaches, you are dehydrated
These are just a few the things that could be the problem, the solution is to understand why does it keep happening instead of treating the problem, you want to get to the root cause of it. So, it doesn’t keep happening again and again and the empowering part is to know that you can do it.
Hormonal Balance is The Key

Simply accepting it is not good enough. You deserve to live a life that brings you joy and satisfaction every day. After all the present is a present, but we end up ruminating about the past and worrying about the future, robbing ourselves of the present.

Hormonal balance is a great and beautiful symphony, when one thing is a little off it creates a cascade of events inside the body that affects everything else, from the way that you think, to the way that you approach challenges and projects, to how you sleep and eat, to your motivation levels, everything.

You have the ability to find ways to help yourself, I know you do, but if you are suffering from any of these afflictions than allowing me to support you would be the start of your journey.

All these things add up to stress which eventually takes a toll on your body leading you down a path of rheumatoid arthritis, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, gut issues, food sensitivities, and generally feeling like you are just trying to get through the day instead of feeling like every day is an opportunity.

These are all preventable conditions; they occur because of chronic lifestyle choices and can most definitely be avoided by taking simple steps towards your own health.

To feel empowered, you begin to understand where you are and where you want to be?

In terms of health, many want to lose weight, this is not a weight loss program, however with the steps that you will take, weight loss that will stay off will be a by-product.

If you feel stuck and don’t know where to start or what to do. You know that you need to make changes but just don’t know how to do them, you are at the right space.

With a simple step coaching program, I support clients who want to:

  9. Find movements that you enjoy doing which will have multiple beneficial effects.
  10. Restore hormonal balance

I have been on this journey for a couple of years now, I suffered from IBS for several years and a sugar addiction, and quite frankly had no idea.

I just knew that this wasn’t the way I wanted to be, feeling exhausted and overwhelmed all the time, crashing into bed and not being able to actually sleep, snoozing my alarm 5 times before dragging myself out of bed, having mood swings all the time, losing the plot on my kids and feeling guilty about it. The vicious cycle perpetuated itself.

Until I had a health coach. I was so inspired that I became a health coach myself, and now I have a passion to support clients who want to feel empowered, ready for transformation, it’s possible, you just got to have faith……. and a coach.
